Project description:
SANVICENTEA is a cognitive accessibility project promoted by the educational centers CEIP L’Horta and CEIP Miguel Hernández together with the City Council of San Vicente del Raspeig.
The general objective of this project is to achieve a real inclusion of students in all its spacesso that they can develop in a practical and autonomous way, which implies making all spaces cognitively accessible with pictograms ARASAAC,from the educational centers in which they are schooled, to their closest environment that is their locality.
To carry out this objective, we began by signaling the school environment with visual supports and later, after “observing how our students improved in their autonomy, in their communication and in their relationship with the rest, since the use of these systems provide them with access to the environment in a real and significant way”, the signage of public spaces and shopsbegan.
Undoubtedly, another great example of service-learning, cognitive accessibility and awareness that we support from ARASAAC, providing all our support and collaboration to continue promoting cognitive accessibility and communication in all places and for all people.
Congratulations, to all the students, to the professionals, to all the people and institutions that are carrying out this initiative!
To carry out this initiative, pictograms of the Aragonese Portal of Augmentative and Alternative Communication ARASAAC,owned by the Government of Aragon, have been used.
